Embedded Velocity Measurement Device
Apr 2025 – May 2025
A portable handheld speed tracker built around an HB100 Doppler radar module and an MSP432 microcontroller. The system samples the radar’s Doppler-shift output through the ADC and computes target velocity from the measured frequency. I wrote the Embedded C firmware covering ADC capture, sensor calibration, noise filtering, and edge detection logic that produces markedly more stable readings than naive threshold detection. I designed the analog filtering and calibration workflow, captured raw radar data, and verified behavior against oscilloscope measurements. I also led the hardware integration, including SolidWorks enclosure design, 3D printing, soldering, and internal assembly, delivering a working handheld prototype.
